Fixed Mortgage Rates Higher for Second Consecutive Week

Interest rates for fixed mortgages moved higher for a second consecutive week while rates for adjustable mortgages tilted lower according to Freddie Mac’s Primary Mortgage Market Survey® (PMMS) for the week ending February 27th, 2014.

Mortgage Applications Tumble

Mortgage applications for home purchases remained flat for another week while applications to refinance an existing mortgage plummeted according to the Mortgage Bankers Association’s (MBA) Weekly Mortgage Applications Survey for the week ending February 21st, 2014.
